Greg Sattler took over management of his father’s painting company, Thomas Sattler Painting, in 1992. As a second generation owner, Greg had learned a lot about running the family business from his father, but he didn’t realize how much more the company could improve. Joining PDCA in 1992 was a catalyst for change in the way the company was run and in Greg himself.
When Ferraro’s Painting and Restoration, Inc. began work to restore an old bank to its former glory they weren’t expecting to win an award. It was simply business as usual until the owner of the company and past PDCA Chapter President, Luigi Ferraro, encouraged Jay Kaye to apply for a PDCA KILZ Picture it Painted Perfectly Industry Award.
In today’s world where modern looks are the new hot design trend, the beauty that is contained in the past is no longer desirable. Hester Painting and Decorating earned one of two 2015 PDCA Industry Awards for Community Improvement for the volunteer project, the makeover of the century-old Wilmette Theater in Wilmette, Illinois. The local landmark was in dire need of a facelift, and the company took it on to celebrate their 45th anniversary.
Star Painting and Wallcovering had the honor of restoring a truly historic building to win the 2015 PDCA KILZ Picture it Painted Professionally Commercial Wallcovering Award. The Blue Bell Inn, located in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, was used by none other than George Washington as a place to strategize and rest. Getting the opportunity to work on such a historic building and impressing those who dine there was a great honor for Dave Carhart, owner of Star Painting.
