Ferraro’s Painting Takes Pride in Winning First PDCA Award

When Ferraro’s Painting and Restoration, Inc. began work to restore an old bank to its former glory they weren’t expecting to win an award. It was simply business as usual until the owner of the company and past PDCA Chapter President, Luigi Ferraro, encouraged Jay Kaye to apply for a PDCA KILZ Picture it Painted Perfectly Industry Award.

“This award was special because the actual project that won was very challenging,” says Jay, who is the Production Manager at Ferraro’s Painting. “We did not start the project anticipating to enter, however, upon completion, it was clear to me that we would have a good chance at winning based on the challenges we overcame.”

The repair involved a forty-five hundred square foot main ceiling and 2 conference room ceilings, complete with decorative and plaster moldings in each. Ferraro’s Painting made sure safety was a priority, requiring personal protective equipment at all times. The client was extremely pleased with the end result, and Ferraro’s was able to make their homecoming a success. The client wasn’t the only one who was pleased with the outcome of the project.

In order to grow as a company Ferraro’s Painting uses the awards in a variety of ways, says Jay. “We use the awards on our website, Facebook and in our literature. By highlighting our awards, even if it is just a thank you card from a satisfied customer, we try and generate new leads and let our current customers know that we are capable and professional.”

Since it is their first award, Jay said that he may have underestimated the “pride factor” that would spread throughout his office and production staff. “The award made it clear to us and our employees that we are doing things the right way, and that by taking pride in our work and taking the time to do things properly and professionally, our customers will value the results and ensure that we get more work and continue to grow as a company.”
