Conrad Schmitt Studios Uses PDCA National Industry Awards to Strengthen Reputation

Conrad Schmitt Studios, Inc. has been a PDCA Member since 1999. During that time, they have won several national awards, including the 2015 KILZ Picture it Painted Professionally (PIPP) Industry Award for a Commercial Decorative Interior project.

“It’s an honor,” says Eileen Grogan, Director of Historic Preservation at Conrad Schmitt Studios, Inc. “We were thrilled to be recognized. We do work all across the country and we’re fortunate to be recognized by organizations from local and regional levels, but it’s a really special thing when it’s a PDCA National award within your own industry.”

Conrad Schmitt Studios, Inc. has built a solid reputation among their clients as one of the best in the business. Their attention to detail and exquisite work in recreating historical edifices has earned them plaudits from local and regional newspapers.

The team at Conrad Schmitt is using the special nature of their national award to bolster their reputation with their clients. “We find that it’s useful to build and maintain our reputation with our clients,” says Eileen. “It’s one thing to say we do good work, but it’s another thing to show them that we are recognized by peers in the industry.”

They also use the awards they’ve won to build reputation in their online communities. “We’ve really been ramping up social media lately,” Eileen continues. “We’ve been trying to promote it on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and we’ve seen an increase in traffic, so we are happy to promote it that way. People seem to really enjoy seeing that we’ve won an award.”

On all of their projects Conrad Schmitt pays close attention to detail and uses PDCA industry standards in their work. “PDCA has been a valuable resource to have – the standards help build credibility within the industry, and that is something we have benefited from. As an organization that maintains those standards we can promote higher quality work within the industry.”

What is Eileen’s advice for winning an award? “You never get an award unless you enter. There is a lot of excellent work going on and people in our industry don’t always take the time to promote themselves. Take the time to do that so you can receive the recognition that gives your sales pitch that extra punch.”
